Wow.. I knew of the legend about the NJ Devil, but I had no idea that the legend was this extensive. I came across this video done by the History Channel in their Monster Quest Series.
This series basically documents the formation of a search party of expert hunters, investigators, game trackers and such to research and attempt to find the NJ Devil. For the sake of brevity the following embedded video is the last episode of the 4 part series. It sums up their findings and the efforts of the previous 3 episodes nicely. ( If this topic peaks your interest i would suggest watching episode1, episode2 and episode3 as well)
NJ Devil In The Pine Barrens?
I have to admit I have been in NJ for most of my life. I even owned a piece of property in the pine barrens, but I had no idea that the legends were any where near as extensive as these videos indicate. Also, this fall a movie will be released about a family being stalked by a monster in the pine barrens. It is called “The Barrens”. see movie trailer here
